Week 2 Self Study and Portfolio

For the week 2 tutorial, I created a basic Unity scene using objects I created, as well as some others downloaded from different model stores from around the internet. The scene I created is of a knight enjoying a day out at the fair, and my own Barrel, Low Poly Character and Radio Tower models  have been used as well as the knight, cart, and apple basket models  linked below. Textures for the radio tower are currently broken, and the low poly character doesn't have any textures.

For the self study, I had to create a low poly character, and then subsequently rig, and animated it. To begin I started with a cube, and adjusted vertices and edges as needed, before extending parts as needed.  The model was created using the mirror functionality within blender, so only one side of the character was modeled. Before animating it, bones had to be placed for the spine, arms, legs and head. Once the model was rigged, keyframes were used to save key points in the characters movement, repeating this process to produce a longer animation. The 3 animations I came up with, were: a simple walk animation, an idle animation of my character looking around, and a simple wave animation.

While the animations aren't perfect, I feel that for a first time 3D animation, they look okay. The walk animation could definitely be improved, perhaps with a more defined model.
